Dear 9th Grade Students and Families,

Welcome to Southington High School — home of the Blue Knights! It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I welcome the Class of 2030 to our school community. The transition from middle school to high school is an exciting milestone, and we are thrilled to have you begin this next chapter.

The 9th Grade Academy is designed to help every student build a strong foundation for a successful high school experience. During this important first year, our focus extends beyond academic achievement. We want our students to develop confidence, build meaningful connections, discover new interests, and begin to see all that is possible for them during their four years at Southington High School.

Southington High School is a place where tradition meets innovation. We hold high academic standards while fostering a supportive environment in which every student can thrive. You will have access to a wide range of academic courses, co-curricular programs, athletic teams, and career pathways designed to challenge you, inspire you, and prepare you for what comes next.

Your high school experience will be shaped by the opportunities you choose to embrace. Join a club. Attend a game or school event. Explore a new interest. Challenge yourself academically. Meet someone new. Ask for help when you need it. Each of these moments helps create a sense of belonging and will become part of your story at Southington High School.

Most importantly, please know that you are not navigating this transition alone. Our teachers, counselors, administrators, and support staff are here to help you grow and succeed, both academically and personally. We also recognize the essential role families play in that success, and we look forward to partnering with you throughout the year.

Class of 2030, this is the beginning of an exciting four-year journey. There will be challenges, accomplishments, new friendships, and opportunities you may not yet imagine. Embrace them. Be courageous. Be curious. Be kind. And above all, be proud to be a Blue Knight.
