Welcome Class of 2029!

Welcome Families

Dear Incoming Freshmen and Families,

Welcome to Southington High School — home of the Blue Knights! It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I welcome you to our incredible school community. The transition from middle school to high school marks a milestone in your educational journey, and we are excited to walk alongside you as you begin this new chapter.

Southington High School is a place where tradition meets innovation. We hold high academic standards while fostering a supportive environment in which every student can thrive. As a Blue Knight, you will have access to a broad range of academic courses, co-curricular programs, athletic teams, and career pathways designed to challenge your intellect and prepare you for the world ahead.

The next four years will offer you countless opportunities to discover who you are and who you want to become. We encourage you to take advantage of everything Southington High School has to offer — join a club, explore our extensive course offerings, or try out for one of our championship-caliber athletic teams. These experiences will be both enriching and foundational to your growth as a learner and as a leader.

Please mark your calendars: Freshman Orientation will be held on Wednesday, August 20th–there is a morning session at 10:00 or an evening session at 6:00pm. This event is a great opportunity to get acclimated to the building, meet teachers and peers, and learn what to expect in the year ahead. Additional details will be shared soon via ParentSquare.

Please know that you are not alone in this transition. Our dedicated faculty, counselors, and support staff are committed to helping you succeed both academically and personally. We also recognize the critical role that families play in this process and look forward to partnering with you to ensure a positive and productive high school experience.

This is the beginning of an exciting, transformative journey. Be courageous. Be curious. Be kind. And above all, be proud to be a Blue Knight.

Looking forward to a great 9th grade year together!
